Hailing from the Planet of Oxryn, the Oxryn empire is a coalition of alien species allied with or enslaved under the emperor of Oxryn, Keks Kackzar. The Emperor took over his own planet after rising through its military ranks before staging a coup. He selected the strongest members of his military and tasked them with conquest across the galaxy, bringing in planets and societies by convincing them with the promise of technology and peace, or by force, invading the planet, massacring its people, and installing a puppet government.
One such soldier dispatched on conquest across the stars was the supervillain, Genesis. He discovered the Earth, and although by the Oxryn empire's standards, it was a highly primitive planet, in his eyes it showed great promise with its abundance of strange, powerful and mutated beings known as "balds". Seeing the potential of these creatures, Genesis revealed himself to the planet and posed as one of the guardians of the human race, a person that the humans referred to as a superhero. Eventually, through the interference and constant irritating nature of one of the other self-proclaimed heroes "Galactus", Genesis gave up on his charade and attempt to win over the humans, and instead went back to the traditional Oxryn invasion methods, quickly taking control of all major world governments. Genesis was eventually defeated and killed in a battle with Galactus.
Following the death of his favourite and most powerful soldier, The Emperor declared war on Earth, descending upon the planet with his mass armies. Many of the soldiers were not as powerful as the Emperor or even Genesis, putting them on approximately equal footing with the average human soldier, but the technology the empire possessed put them leagues above the United Earth combat forces. Following the Earth's defeat at the hands of the Emperor, The Empire took a more heavy-handed approach to control the Earth, placing a company of troops in every city on the planet, and beginning recruitment of humans into their ranks.
Inevitably due to human nature, pockets of rebellion began to spread across the globe, and a united task force comprised of both balds, old-world government soldiers and humans considered to be super-powered overthrew the Oxryn empire, destroying much of their ground force and forcing the rest back into space. Following them into space, a second battle for Earth took place in orbit, in which the Emperor himself joined the battle. He was killed in battle, freeing the many worlds of the Oxryn empire across the stars, but also leaving them in a state of disarray.
