Ratty is a pet rat belonging to Mitch. The two met while living underneath the alleyway stairs behind the fire exit of the Slippy Peanut. Ratty (named by Mitch), is a rat born with the same genetic makeup as Gerkin, granting him human intelligence. Once the two became acquainted, Ratty offered to join Mitch in the fight in exchange for a future job prospect at the Cheshire Hotel, which would force Ratty to give up his life as a gun for hire. In his early life (yesterday), Ratty was the chief Police officer of the Chester sewers police academy. Unknowingly to Ratty, there was a mole in the sewer police who sold out Ratty while he was working undercover infiltrating a gang, the gang murdered his family and framed him for the crime, getting him kicked out of the police force and sent to prison. He eventually escaped and dedicated his life to hunting down and killing each of the gang members who took his family (all of this took about 7 hours). After achieving his vengeance, he had nowhere else to go so he was forced to leave the sewers and live with the humans, which was where he met Mitch.
