The Bald's RPG Demo update 2 - In-game Footage!

Today I played the demo version of the game up to a certain point and recorded it.


The game itself is, of course, still a work in progress, however, we have begun to include some of the customised features that we want this game to have.

The game is being created on the RPGMaker MV engine, however, we want it to be overdeveloped to the point where you can't even tell it was originally made on RPGMaker. In its current form we are still utilising many of their pre-installed features, such as some of the music and sprites, but we aim to have completely replaced everything by the time the final version of the game is released. The previous post talking about the game had a very different map, as that version of the demo was more of a proof-of-concept prototype to see if the balds translated well to game form. Everyone who has played that initial demo agree's that the humour carries over nicely and that the combat is fun utilising each of the Bald's characteristics.

Music

We are currently developing a full Original Sound Track (OST) for the game, with 12 songs already completed, the above video includes extracts of 5 of those songs. We plan to expand the 12 songs to a full album which may be released onto YouTube as well as being included in the game.

Combat

The combat will utilise a staple of the RPG genre, turn-based combat, however, we plan to include a HUGE array of weapons and abilities, all fitting in with the Bald's world.

Story

The story is being kept mostly under wraps during the development of the game, but we will divulge that it will include the so far unseen protagonist of "Cecil Cecil" and the villainous "Comrade Cyka" as one of the main antagonists.

Playable characters

The game will allow you to initially play as Cecil, with the option to recruit an additional 3 Bald's in the form of Bald Leon, Bald Jack and Bald Ben. further along in development, we may include a feature where you can swap out the Bald's that you have recruited for other characters, such as Bald Ollie or The Master.

Characters

The game will include a whole host of existing Bald's character's, including the fan favourites like Bald Leon and Bald Ben, but also some relatively unknown Balds such as the Mexican Balds, Michael Davidson and Mark Jackson.

Distribution

This is a tricky one for us. eventually, we would like to have the game be available on steam, however, this comes at a great cost. We are still currently a small team catering to an audience that is ironically comprised of about 50% of that team, so the cost is currently too great for it to be widely released onto steam. We may consider a free release of the game, as well as free distribution of prototypes to select individuals, and we may post the game somewhere behind a paywall, for example on patreon where it is included as a reward for subscribers. It is important to note that we are very far from having a complete game at this point, so we are not worried about this.
