Dog Lead Man is a Bounty-hunting war veteran. He was born in 1900 after his mother had to suffer through an 18-year-long gestation period, causing her child to be born as a fully grown man. Dog Lead Man's bald property is a very strange ability, as long as he eats a carrot at least once per day, he will never age, strangely, however, he is unaware that this is a power he possesses and even gets defensive when somebody tries to tell him this, as he is convinced he is "normal" and just looks good for his age. The only reason why he continues to eat carrots daily is that he enjoys them, not for any life-preservation reasons.
Time travellers have revealed that when Dog Lead Man dies, it will not be in battle, he will die simply because he does not eat a carrot on the day of his death. The reasoning for why he doesn't eat a carrot on this day is unknown, potentially a national shortage, him being too far from a carrot to be able to eat them, or even that he simply did not want one on that particular day. The date of his death is also unknown.
His name comes from his weapon of choice, the humble Dog Lead. Over the years he has modified it to become a deadly weapon, but his arsenal of weapons is not limited to the dog lead. He is also known to have used a variety of melee weapons, as well as a host of firearms.
During his lifetime, he fought in world war 2 on the side of the allies, even present at D-day where he acted as a paratrooper and was one of the first men to reach the ground because he did not use a parachute and instead used his dog lead to latch onto a tree as he got close to the ground to prevent his death. Post-war, Dog Lead Man used the skills, resources and connections that he acquired during the war to become a gun-for-hire, mercenary, assassin and bounty hunter.
throughout the 20th century, he has been credited with over 5000 confirmed kills in all areas of his work, including assassinations, kills on the battlefield and kills committed remotely with traps and drones.
Coming into the 21st century, he found his primary source of income in being a bodyguard for the entrepreneur Julian Alatosh while doing work on the side as a hitman. He first came into connection with the core balds through his work protecting Julian, when the Bald's had attempted to kill him before changing their minds.
His side work as a hitman brought him into contact with the gangster Quentin Russo after Dog Lead Man performed a hit on his brother, which led to the events of the "Taking the lead: A Bald's Story" movie.
